A year ago, Peru was temporarily suspended from EITI International for not submitting its report on the mining and hydrocarbons sector on time as part of the transparency policies of this entity.
However, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported that the commitment to continue under the EITI standard was renewed after receiving a letter from Helen Clark, president of the international EITI, in which the blockade on our country was lifted after presenting the Eighth National Transparency Report (2019-2020).

It is worth noting that in December of last year the Government presented this document to ratify its commitment to apply transparent conduct in the extractive industry.
According to Minem, it will continue to lead the EITI Peru to institutionalize transparency in the extractive sector and thus improve the country’s governability.
