New Wyndham hotel, with 115 rooms, bar-restaurant for 50 people, Business centera gym and 10 rooms for events and meetings with a maximum capacity of 1200 people, opened its doors in the capital to provide hosting and event services. This is La Quinta by Wyndham, managed by SixStar Hotels. In a completely renovated building which Before the Crown Plaza Hotel, half a million dollars was invested in the maintenance and remodeling of the infrastructure. However, further renovation works are planned and will be carried out gradually until 2026.

The opening of this property, located on United Nations Boulevard (Shyris and El Comercio), took place on March 15 and helped create approx. 40 direct jobs right away, but an increase to 100 associates is expected in the coming months.

This week, Christian Bocam, senior regional director of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, visited Ecuador to check the technical aspects and standards of the new hotel and generate integration between the teams of the nine hotels that Wyndham owns in Ecuador. Bocam explained that with La Quinta by Wyndham, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has nine operations (four hotels in the Sierra and five on the Coast) managing a total of 1,039 rooms under five different brands.

He also reminded that they have been present with the brand in the country since approximately 2014 Howard Johnsonhowever, in 2017 a upgrade by brand Wyndham Garden. “La Quinta by Wyndham Quito will offer basic daily services, with friendly staff and accommodation that will dazzle you with its splendor. From breakfast every morning to the rooms, they will offer customers everything they need for a comfortable stay,” said the CEO.

During 2023, four more hotels under the La Quinta brand are planned to open in different Latin American countries, such as the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

When Wyndham consulted Boca on what it looked like, Ecuador and the complex moment we are living in the political issue, explains that in Latin America, as in other countries, it can influence the creation of business in the country and the tourism sector. “We are very cautious about any political behaviour, taking action at each of the hotels to minimize the consequences it may have.”
