Euskaraz irakurri: ELAk beste 13 greba egun deitu ditu Bizkaiko adinekoen egoitzetan
The Union THE A has announced the call for other 13 days of strikea in the residences for the elderly in Bizkaia, between April 21 and May 3, which will exceed the 50 days of strikes supported by this center in demand of the sectoral agreement.
In a note, the central abertzale has denounced “the abandonment of employers and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia” when it comes to responding to the existing needs in the feminized sector.
The call of the majority union in this sector occurs separately from the calls to strike that other unions have been making in Biscayan residences.
Specifically, LAB has called for 9 days of strike in these centers —on April 3, 4 and 5 and May 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20—, while CCOO has called for another 10 days to stop — on April 13 and 14; May 22, 23 and 24 and June 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.
In his opinion, “issues such as the lack of personnel, the equalization of the IFAS -Provincial Institute of Social Assistance-, the substitutions from the first day or ending partiality… perfectly describe the attitude and interest that the Provincial Council of Bizkaia and employers of the Gesca, Lares and Elbe sectors have regarding the urgent needs that the sector demands”. ELA denounces that with this attitude both the companies and the Diputación seek “to perpetuate the current care model”.
The strike will begin with a demonstration that will start at 11:00 am from the esplanade of the Guggenheim Museum and that will go through the streets of Bilbao until it reaches the Basque Government.
