The Guayaquil Chamber of Industries (CIG) celebrated its eighty-fifth anniversary, last Tuesday, with a solemn session in which awards were given to the most prominent industries and entrepreneurs and which also marked the closing of the Expoindustries 2021, an event in which world trends within the Food, Beverages and Suppliers sector were promoted.
During the conference, which took place at the Hilton Colón hotel in Guayaquil, Francisco Jarrín, president of the union, awarded the Centennial Company recognition to EL UNIVERSO newspaper, that turned 100 years old on September 16 since it was founded in 1921 by Ismael Pérez Pazmiño.
The recognition was received by the director of Diario EL UNIVERSO, Carlos Pérez Barriga; The deputy director, Cesar Perez Barriga, and deputy director of New Media, Nicolás Pérez Lapentti.

Arca Continental, National Brewery and Pronaca were recognized with the Business Merit Award for their efforts focused on promoting the health area by vaccinating employees, family members and the community against COVID-19.
