According to the third estimate and final calculation on the Gross Domestic Product According to the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA), its economy grew 2.1% in 2022.
These data come against a backdrop of “moderate inflation, low unemployment, continued uncertainties in the supply chain and rising interest rates,” the BEA also said.
It was thus that there was no change to the previously estimated, but there was a reduction of one tenth of the fourth quarter with respect to the third, from the estimated 0.7 to the confirmed 0.6.
In addition, its estimate of the annual growth rate in the fourth quarter was modified, which stood at 2.6, one tenth less than that calculated in the second estimate and three tenths less than the initial data calculated. This reflects, according to the BEA, “downward revisions to exports and consumer spending.”
It should be noted that although this 2.1% advance is lower than that registered in 2021, which reached 5.9%, it represents annual growth and leaves behind the fear of a possible recession.
Although with much lower growth than in 2021 (5.9%), the United States thus closed the year with 2.1% annual growth.
