This Tuesday, March 28, Perupetro presented Petroperú as the operator of Block 192 before the representatives of the Loreto Regional Government.
Let’s remember that, a few weeks ago, the contract was signed between both state companies for Petroperú to take over the reins of this operation located in the provinces of Datem del Marañón and Loreto.
Block 192 has been paralyzed since February 2020 and, for now, communication routes and infrastructure maintenance are being enabled, which will be completed by the end of this year. In total, Petroperú will manage it for 30 years.
Whats Next? Petroperu must clarify who will be the strategic partner for the reactivation of Block 192.
Social fund for communities
Cecilia Quiroz, manager of the Community Relations Department of Petroperú, explained that she also joined a social fund of 1.5% of the valuation of controlled hydrocarbonswhich will be administered through a private trust to execute development projects in favor of the surrounding communities.
Now the communities will have their own resources to manage their prioritized projects and enjoy a good quality of life; added to the improvements in environmental matters to respect the area of influence.
