De Prati has arrived in Machala and this Friday, March 31, 2023, will be the grand opening of his new store located on an area of ​​6,000 square meters on one of the main roads of this capital of the province of El Oro, 25th Avenue de Junio.

The store will open to the public at 10 a.m. and the first 200 people will receive a gift card, the company said.

Machala, a magnet for investments and new companies?

Weeks before, the company opened its Mujeres Confeccionistas social program in Machala, involving 60 women who receive free training in dressmaking techniques, entrepreneurship and human development. This program reaches every city where De Prati opens its stores, with the aim of creating development opportunities for women in vulnerable situations in the country.

De Prati, in alliance with Fundación Acción Solidaria, launched the Mujeres Confeccionistas program in 2014, providing tools for the development of women through access to education. Currently, the program is implemented in Guayaquil, Quito and Manta, and with the establishment of Machala, a total of 1,104 women are using it.

The new action of the women’s clothing manufacturer is for entrepreneurship

This program is developed over a period of 10 months with a total of 520 hours of training in technical management of basic and operational clothing, management for entrepreneurship and human development, modules that allow them to improve their educational and personal profile.

The first store in Machala is considered the first step in the company’s expansion projectfor which it plans to invest a total of 80 million dollars in the next twelve years, after signing an investment project with the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investments and Fisheries in April 2022.

The expansion envisages the opening of new stores in different cities in the country in order to expand the company’s geographical coverage, with the construction of a distribution center corresponding to this expansion of coverage.
