In the first case, the informative study proposes the route of the Campanas-Zuasti section, 24 kilometers long, bordering Pamplona, which will allow the railway loop to be eliminated, with a new station in Echavacoiz. The alternative for which the study is committed foresees an investment of 499 million euros, although there are different variants of greater or lesser cost.
The construction of the high-speed train in Navarra will be carried out in two sections. The first, the one of the Pamplona region (Campanas-Zuasti), 24 kilometers long, bordering Pamplona, which includes the new Etxabakoitz station, and which will have an investment of around 500 million euros.
In second place would be the section of Zaragoza to Castejon, which is estimated at an investment of between 1,200 and 1,500 million euros. This section covers about 80 kilometers of which approximately half pass through Navarra.
It will be a total investment of about 1600 or 2000 million euros, depending on the different alternatives that are finally implemented.
The project is in any case in a very initial situation. Now the informative studies are open to public exposure. Subsequently, the environmental impact study will be necessary to give way to the final approval of the project.
The President of the Government of Navarre, Maria Chivite, has ensured that the arrival of the TAV in Navarra “advances and does so in an indisputable way in its planning phase of execution of works”.
