Choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about the improvement in the condition of figure skater Roman Kostomarov

Choreographer Ilya Averbukh spoke about the condition of the Olympic champion in ice dancing Roman Kostomarov. His words are quoted by TASS.

Averbukh said that the health of the skater is improving. “A few days ago he recorded a voice message for us, a very strong motivation was felt in his voice, he joked, conditionally, that now “I will be fixed and I will return to you guys,” he shared.

On March 23, Moskovsky Komsomolets, citing a source in the hospital, reported that several fingers on Kostomarov’s left hand had been removed. It also became known that the athlete had liver problems due to taking a large number of potent drugs.

Kostomarov was hospitalized on 10 January. He was diagnosed with left-sided pneumonia in combination with influenza B. According to Moskovsky Komsomolets, the 46-year-old figure skater was amputated with both feet, then the shins of both legs, as well as the entire right hand.
