Euskaraz irakurri: Arcelor Mittalek 7,000 lagunentzako lan erregulazioa aurkeztu du, tartean Etxebarri, Lesaka eta Legasakoentzat
The address of ArcelorMittal has raised this Friday to the unions a Temporary Employment Regulation File (ERTE) due to force majeure that would affect some 7000 workers of its workforce in the Asturias cluster, after the accident that on Wednesday caused damage to the blast furnace A in Gijón.
The ERTE would affect the workforce of the cluster that includes the Biscayan plant of Etxabarri, the Navarres of lesaka and Legasa, as well as all of Asturias and Sagunto. They have not specified how many employees at each plant will be affected by the file.
The unions consider that the company’s decision is premature and have asked to wait to know the true extent of the damage registered in the blast furnace.
The steel company expects the extent of the damage within a week to assess the possibility of repairing facilities whose useful life was scheduled for approximately 2025.
Unions will maintain a meeting with the address next Wednesdayinitially programmed to continue with the negotiations of the agreement, and in which this file will also be dealt with, already with all the data that allow the damage to be assessed.
The incident will force the facilities to stop for at least two months and that is why the company has proposed the application of an ERTE for all the workers on its staff.
