The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) appointed Victor Hugo Montoya Chavez as the new head of the Pension Standardization Office (ONP), replacing Luis Guillermo Grimaldo Parra Casas.
In accordance with supreme resolution No. 001-2023-EF, Parra Casas submitted his resignation from the aforementioned position, for which it was necessary to “accept it and designate the person who performs the inherent functions.”
Víctorhugo Montoya Chávez, a lawyer graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), assumed the leadership of the ONP between April 2020 and September 2021.
The lawyer also has a master’s degree in Democracy and Good Governance at the University of Salamanca and postgraduate studies in Political Science and Constitutional Law at the Center for Political and Constitutional Studies (CEPC) in Spain.
Until before this election, the official had been serving as general director of the General Directorate of Fiscal Management of Human Resources of the MEF.
The appointment of Montoya Chávez was endorsed by the President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte Zegarra, and the head of the MEF, Alex Contreras Miranda.
