ONP recognition bond: opinion of insistence was included in the Plenary’s agenda

The opinion in majority that recommends the insistence on the autograph for the delivery of a Recognition Bonus to the ONP contributors who migrated to the AFPs was included in the agenda of the Plenary Session of the Congress of the Republic, scheduled for next week.

Said device, which was once again sent by the Economy Commission on March 9 -even with the observations of the Executive Branch-, allows the State to recognize the contributions made by those affiliates of the ONP who decided to switch to the Private Pension System (SPP ) —administered by the AFPs— from 2002 onwards.

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) expressed its disagreement considering that said law, in practice, would mean the “elimination” of the ONP, due to its high fiscal cost.

It should be noted that, currently, the pension payment payroll is more than S/ 5,000 million a year with 406,000 affiliates over 65 years of age. The transfer of ONP affiliates to the AFPs could cost S/ 4,700 million only in the first year of applying the proposal.

“What is already paid annually in pensions added to this additional cost represents an amount of S / 11,000 million,” warned the head of the MEF, Alex Contreras.

If promulgated by the Congress of the Republic, the Executive power You will have up to 12 months to make this benefit effective for ONP affiliates who migrated to an AFP.
