The Ministry of Labor, by order of President Guillermo Lasso, ordered the authorities of public institutions to implement remote work in the province of Guayas on March 23 and 24.
This is due to the extraordinary climate that this province experiences, with high tides, rains and floods.
For the private sector, the ministry recommends that this modality be applied in the same way, in accordance with the relevant regulations: the unnumbered article after Article 16 of the Labor Law for performing activities according to the remote work modality and the Ministerial Agreement MDT-2022-237.
For the public sector, the agreements and regulations established by the Ministerial Agreement MDT-2022-035 apply.
