BCRP: Inés Choy, Diego Macera and Carlos Oliva, the three directors proposed by the Congress

The president of Congress, María del Carmen Alva, reported this Wednesday that the Legislative candidates to occupy the board of directors of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) are Inés Choy, Diego Macera and Carlos Oliva.

It is worth emphasizing that the names of these specialists sounded strongly within the Congress, as reported this mid-October.

Along these lines, Alva told CADE Executives that tomorrow the appointment of Macera, Oliva and Choy will be submitted for consideration in plenary session to complete the BCRP board of directors at once, considering that at the beginning of November four directors proposed by the Executive, while Joseph Chlimper, Elmer Cuba and Rafael Rey they remain in office awaiting their replacements.

“I want to say that the Commission in charge of choosing the proposals of the next directors of the Central Reserve Bank, and the idea is that tomorrow the proposal will be taken to the Plenary. Diego Macera has been elected unanimously with 9 votes, Inés Choy Chong, with 8 votes and Carlos Oliva, with 6 votes ”, added Alva.

Profiles:

Ines Choy, former central operations manager of the BCRP.

Diego Macera, Manager of the Peruvian Institute of Economics (IPE).

Carlos Oliva, formerly the Ministry of Economy and Finance and current president of the Fiscal Council.
