MTPE: rains and mudslides have caused the loss of 50,000 jobs

The intense rains and landslides have so far caused the loss of around 50,000 jobssaid this Tuesday, March 21, the head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), Alfonso Adrianzén. He indicated that the entity has 9,000 temporary jobs ready in the areas declared in emergency, through the Lurawi Peru program.

“Until the weekend we estimated that 50,000 jobs would be lost due to torrential rains and mudslides,” he said at the opening of the Job Fair that takes place in the Pueblo Libre district.

Adrianzén explained that the MTPE has the Lurawi Peru program, which is a fund that transfers resources to local governments so that mayors and district authorities hire people to carry out work that benefits the community, In this case, 9,000 jobs will be opened to carry out emergency care work.

“We have projected to cover 9,000 temporary jobs in the most immediate term at the national level, being the first in the districts of Chaclacayo, Lurigancho-Chosica, Santa Eulalia and soon in Ica and Lambayeque,” he noted.
