The recent Industrial Opinion Survey (EOI) – III quarter 2021, prepared by the SNI, also maintains that, as long as the “uncertainty caused by political positions and power clashes” persists, it will be difficult to convince the 46% of businessmen who are still cautious.
Regarding the outlook for the sector, pessimism for the next three months has also been declining to 34% in the first quarter, 26% between April and June, and 23% for the third quarter. In other words, 77% of entrepreneurs expect their sector to remain the same (49%) or even improve (28%) in this last section.
According to the report, 60% of entrepreneurs reported having registered higher production levels during the third quarter, compared to the same period in 2020, and 18% said that their production was the same. Only 22% registered a drop.
Meanwhile, of the entrepreneurs who saw their production limited, 55% of those surveyed considered the shortage of inputs for the manufacturing process as the first problem, mainly associated with the shortage of containers.
