ELA, LAB and UGT have convened another three days of strike for the next April 18, 19 and 20 in the senior centers of Navarre. The unions point to the “blockade of the employers and the Government of Navarra” as a reason for this when negotiating the sectoral agreement.

On January 26, the last meeting between the parties: the unions, employers’ associations and the Government of Navarra. At that meeting, the employers presented a proposal that was rejected by all the unions. According to these statements, the employers were summoned to “make a proposal that contemplated decent conditions and, two months later, neither the employers nor the Government of Navarra have shown their willingness to respond.”

The negotiations of the sectoral agreement began in May 2021. ELA, LAB and UGT agreed on a joint proposal that they sent to the employers. The trade union centrals claim “an agreement that allows the staff to develop a decent job and that ensures a quality of service for the users of this sector of the elderly.”

ELA, LAB and UGT have called the workers to mobilize. will be performed concentrations on March 24 in Parliament and on March 29 before the Palacio de Navarra. Also, they have called three days of strike for the next 18, 19 and 20 April.

The sector has more than 4,500 employees spread over more than 70 centers.
