During the presentation of the National Planting Survey – ENIS 2022, the general director of the DGESEP, César Santisteban, said that the overstock that currently exists in neighboring countries such as Brazil, Venezuela, Panama, the United States and Colombia could be used. , with a guaranteed arrival date in August.

“When the first purchase operation was made, the fertilizer was at US$ 1,030 per ton (CIF price). Now, it’s around $612. What does that mean? That, if a few weeks ago we were going to buy urea between 60,000 and 70,000 tons, now we estimate that, when the operation is carried out in the next few days, we will be able to receive between 100,000 and 130,000 tons. A lot more fertilizer for the same amount of money,” he said.
