Do you remember when Tadzio and Karol from “Miodowe Lat” came to Fredek’s party? There were more exceptional guests

March 16, 2023 marks 24 years since the premiere of the first episode of “The World According to Kiepski”. On this occasion, we remember one of the episodes in which the most distinguished guests appeared. Karol Krawczyk and Tadzio Norek from “Honeymoon Years” are just the beginning of the list.

“Oh, damn hedgehog!”, “Don’t insult me, okay?”, “What the fuck do I care?” – these are just a few of the already iconic quotes from the universe of “The World According to the Kiepskis”. Although the series officially ended in 2022, some episodes and fragments will probably not be forgotten for many years to come.

24 years of “The World According to the Kiepskis”. Tadzio Norek and Karol Krawczyk appeared in the special episode from 1999

The first episode of “The World According to the Kiepskis” was broadcast on Polsat on March 16, 1999. 24 years ago, the creators showed courage and ingenuity to deal with the stereotypical model of the Polish family. For years, the production showed the vices attributed to the inhabitants of our country, drawing attention to their harmfulness, while not losing distance and filling each episode with a specific sense of humor.

The main role in the series was played by Andrzej Grabowski throughout its duration, and Halina – Marzena Kipiel-Sztuka was the screen wife of Ferdek Kiepski. It was the roles in the Polsat series that also ensured high recognition of the dead – Ryszard Kotys (Marian Paździoch) or Dariusz Gnatowski (Arnold Boczek). An extremely important figure here was also Waldek Kiepski, Ferdek’s companion in watching TV and drinking Mocny Fulla, played by Bartosz Żukowski.

However, the series also featured many guest appearances by famous personalities, as well as characters from other productions of the antenna. Zbigniew Wodecki, Katarzyna Figura, Joanna Brodzik, Robert Gonera and Piotr Gąsowski have appeared in the series over the years. An exceptional episode in this respect was a special episode entitled “The Great Ball”.

The episode aired on New Year’s Eve, and its description on the show’s fandom page reads:

It is December 31, 1999. Halina Kiepska angrily shows Ferdek a broken frying pan. Halina reproaches her husband for never taking her to the New Year’s Eve ball. Ferdinand decides to organize it at home. He does the decorations. He invites Arnold Boczek. He organizes the orchestra. At the same time, Marian Paździoch organizes a ball at his home (with an orchestra of postmen: Edzio and pensioners: Rych, Zdzich and Krzych). Ferdek orders the children to cover the posters advertising the Paździochów party with their own.

It turns out, however, that no one comes to any of the parties, and the quarreling neighbors join forces in the Kiepskis’ apartment. While watching TV, they start to pull out the characters known to all Polsat viewers from the TV set.

Krzysztof Krawczyk, the Graczykowie, Karol and Norek at the “Great Ball” of the Kiepskis

This is how Krzysztof Krawczyk, who performs the new hit “Dwutysięczny New Year” and Jadwiga and Wiesław Graczykowie, plays at Kiepski’s “Great Ball”. In addition, on the screen, fans of Polish series saw a crossover dreamed of in those years (a situation in which heroes from different works of culture meet – editor’s note).

The duo of Karol Krawczyk and Tadzio Norek from “Miodowe Lat” comes out of the TV. The men, clearly bewildered by the situation, do not quite know how to behave, but as befits “polite people”, they accept glasses filled with champagne from Paździoch and wait for the development of events.

Then Edzio, a postman dressed as a toreador, enters the Kiepski house and tries to tame the bull – played by Arnold Boczek. As if the carousel of absurdities wasn’t enough, in the episode Grandma Rozalia starts dancing on the pole and seduces Karol, who apparently succumbs to the old woman’s charm and gives her 50 zlotys.
