Premier Mirtha Vásquez led meeting of the commission for the massification of natural gas

This Tuesday the Executive resumed the meetings of the Multisectoral Commission for the massification of natural gas, after three calls canceled due to lack of a quorum.

The meeting was led by the president of the Council of Ministers, Mirtha Vásquez. And it also had the participation of the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), Eduardo Gonzáles Toro, who had not participated in the last three calls (November 5, 9 and 11), which had to be rescheduled in the absence of the key actor for the elaboration of guidelines with a view to massifying the hydrocarbon.

The heads of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Human Rights and Perupetro also participated in the session on Tuesday, November 16.

It is worth emphasizing that this Multisectoral Commission is not in charge of renegotiating the natural gas contracts with the Camisea Consortium, since, according to law, such work must be led by Perupetro.

Along these lines, said working group has until the fortnight of December to present a report to Perupetro with the key points that the Government seeks to renegotiate with the Camisea Consortium.
