Government will promote a social housing program for homes affected by the rains

The President of the Republic, Dina Boluarte, announced this Wednesday, March 15, that, from his administration, a social housing program will be promoted to attend to the homes affected by the intense rains that the country has been facing. This decision has been agreed at the last session of the Council of Ministers.

We have agreed to promote a social housing program, in adition to own roof because we have seen that several families have been left homeless and we have to respond to it,” declared the president after finishing the session of the Council of Ministers.

For her part, the owner of the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation (MVCS), Hania Pérez de Cuéllar, recalled that the current management is granting the Housing Lease Bond for Emergencies (BAE), which is a monetary support of S/500 per month that will allow families to be served in the short term who have lost their homes as a result of the heavy rains in the northern regions.

Therefore, to make this subsidythe Minister of Housing explained that support is being provided to the mayors so that the registers where the affected families are registered can be prepared.

“The housing subsector team is deployed at the national level to accompany the district mayors in the elaboration of the registers to be able to register those families that have been left without housing, either because they have been declared uninhabitable or as destroyed. I make a call to the mayors to be able to determine that register, without that register we will not be able to activate these emergency lease bonds“, the official said.
