The staff of four of the five Bizkaibus concessionaires (Busturia Lea Artibai Bus, Ezkerraldea-Meatzaldea Bus, Vectalia Enkarterri and Vectalia Txorierri Mungialdea) will carry out a new 24 hour strike day to request the update of the agreement, as reported by the UGT in a statement.
The union, the majority in Bizkaibus as a whole, has urged the political parties and, above all, the PNV and PSE-EE “not to stand in profile”. Specifically, they have claimed the deputy general of Bizkaia, Unai Rementeriato “take the lead in resolving the situation at Bizkaibus, since some concessionaires have been on strike and partial stoppages for up to five months.”
The president of the Busturia Committee Lea Artibai, Oscar Lopezfrom UGT, has warned that the workers “will not stop until they achieve that some drivers do not discriminate against others in the Bizkaibus service”.
“We are more united than ever and we demand that the Provincial Council of Bizkaia get involved in the conflict, because good words are no longer valid, there must be actions and that they do not allow these multinationals to come to Bizkaia to profit without providing a good service “, has added.
For this, in addition to the strike, the personnel of these four concessionaires will demonstrate through the streets of Bilbao, starting at 8:00 a.m., to gather in front of the Foral Palace of the Diputación de Bizkaia, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. hours to claim a fair settlement.
The BLB company and Vectalia Enkarterri will demonstrate from Juan de Garay (Torre Urizar), EMB will leave EITB and Vectalia Txorrieri will leave San Pedro de Deusto square.
The company committees of all the concessionaires on strike will meet soon to intensify strikes and demonstrations until a “fair agreement” is reached.
