The Confederal Council of CCOO and the Confederal Committee of UGT They have given this Wednesday the approval final, unanimously, to the second phase of the pension reformTherefore, it will be approved by the Spanish Government with the support of both unions, but without CEOE and Cepyme.
This was reported by the CCOO and the UGT, whose leaders, Unai Sordo and Pepe Álvarez, respectively, will appear together with the Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, starting at 1:30 p.m. today to explain this bipartite agreement which puts the finishing touch to the different reforms in the pension system undertaken in this legislature and contemplated in the Spanish Recovery Plan.
This second leg of the pension reform will not have the support of CEOE and Cepymewhich did sign the first phase of the reform, which guaranteed the revaluation of pensions with the CPI.
During his speech at the UGT Confederal Committee, the union’s general secretary, Pepe Álvarez, asked for a vote in favor of the reform, since it is a “historic deal”which includes the demands of the UGT regarding the repeal of the labor and pension reforms of the PP.
“Not even the Government itself thought that we could go that far,” Álvarez said during the event, and assured that the agreement “guarantees the pension system”.
