Euskaraz irakurri: 350 lanpostu sortuko ditu Iberdrolak eta Haizea Wind Groupek sinatu duten 200 milioitik gorako kontratuak
Haizea Wind Groupa world leader in the manufacture of wind towers, and Scottish Power, of the group iberdrolathey have signed a agreement of more than 200 million euros for Haizea Bilbao to supply 50 monopiles from its facilities in the Port of Bilbao to the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom. This is the second contract that Haizea Bilbao has secured for future port facilities, after the agreement signed last September with the Danish company Ørsted.
This Wednesday, the lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, the deputy general of Bizkaia, Unai Rementeria, the mayor of Zierbena Iñigo de Loyola Ortuzar, the president of Haizea Wind Group Dámaso Quintana, the president of Iberdrola Ignacio Sánchez Galán, the Minister of Economic Development Arantxa Tapia and the deputy for Economic Promotion Ainara Basurko have placed the foundation stone of future facilities, which will require a investment of 150 million of euros.
Currently, Haizea Bilbao has 48,800 square meters and 500 workers. After signing these contracts, it already has an area of more than 200,000 square meters.
In addition, to the three current ships, Haizea Bilbao will add another three and a new additional storage area to accommodate the monopiles before they are delivered to the transport vessels. On the other hand, the agreement will suppose the creation of 350 jobs direct in Haizea Bilbao.
The 50 monopiles that Haizea Wind Group will manufacture for Iberdrola will serve to support the wind turbines from the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the UK and will leave the new facility. In total, said park will have a capacity of 1.4 GW and will supply clean energy to over a million British homes.
