The Ministry of Labor and Promotion of Employment (MTPE) ordered a tolerance of two compensable hours for the entry or exit of workers from their workplaces in the 233 districts of the Ancash, Cajamarca, La Libertad, Lambayeque, Piura and Tumbes regions, Lima provinces and metropolitan Lima, which have been affected by heavy rains.
Through a statement, the MTPE urges employers to “adopt flexible measures that allow them to compensate for the involuntary delay time caused by this fact, allowing workers to enter to carry out their work,” the entity said.
Measure applies for Monday, March 13 and Tuesday, March 14the hours that are stopped working should not be considered as unjustified tardies, has indicated the MTPE and adds that these must be compensated in the manner and opportunity agreed by both parties. If there is no agreement, it will be up to the employer to decide.
Finally, it is specified that the measure only applies to those regions, provinces, and districts established in Supreme Decree No. 029-2023, where there is objective evidence of weather effects.
