The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) designated, through Supreme Resolution No. 051-2023-PCM, this Sunday, March 12, Karen Caceres Durango like the new Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi).
In the same regulation published in the Legal Regulations Bulletin of El Peruano, the designation of Julian Palacin, whatWho was placed in charge of the entity on September 14, 2021, during the administration of the former president Pedro Castillo.
In its recitals, the legal provision indicates that the reason for the removal of Palacín is due to the fact that the official did not meet the minimum requirements established in the Law No. 31419to exercise the position of member and president of Indecopi. “Consequently, it is appropriate to terminate the appointment provided by Supreme Resolution No. 100-2021-PCM,” says the rule, which is also endorsed by the President of the Council of Ministers, Luis Alberto Otárola, and is signed by the President Dina Boluarte.
Who is the new president of Indecopi?
The new president of Indecopi is a lawyer, a specialist in public management, with more than 25 years of experience as a servant in central and regional government institutions. In addition, she held senior management positions as general secretary, director of the Human Resources Administrative System, Auditor, Decentralized Headquarters Administrator, Senior Management Advisor, among others, according to the PCM web portal.
She is a graduate of a master’s degree in Public Management and has the same rank in studies in university teaching, as well as various specializations in human resources, government contracting, Administrative Law, Credit Recovery, Criminal Procedure Law, Environmental Management and Environmental Impact Assessment, etc
Since December 2022, she has been the secretary of the Administrative Secretariat of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
