The Petroperú company has communicated that the heavy rainfall registered on March 9 in the city of Talara has not caused serious damage to the facilities of the New Talara Refinery and that all the activities related to its soft start process are running normally.
“The water that was observed in front of one of the entrances to this industrial complex was caused by the accumulation of mud and solid waste from the city, which caused the obstruction of the pipelines in the main channel, which were immediately cleared by contractor personnel from Petroperú”, detailed in a statement.
The company also pointed out that the work to complete the cleaning work continues, but it will be finished in the next few hours. At the time, the NRT Rainfall Plan was activated, which contemplates the formation of a multidisciplinary team made up of civil engineers and others.
“It should be noted that both the process units and other parts of the infrastructure of the refinery complex They are completely clear thanks to the proper functioning of the drainage systems located in the NRT,” they clarified.
