He Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) reported this Wednesday that, for this year, there are 123 projects that represent a total investment of more than US$68,000 million, 28% of the GDP of 2022.
The progress of these initiatives — scheduled for sectors such as transportation, communications, sanitation, electricity, hydrocarbons, mining and others — is promoted through the Specialized Investment Monitoring Team (EESI), and is 13% higher than what was executed in the year past.
In addition, the MEF anticipates that these programmed investments will help to reactivate the national economy.
Among the large-scale projects, stand out the expansion of the Jorge Chávez International Airport, the Chancay port terminal and Line 2 of the Lima and Callao Metrowhich together mean US$1.3 billion, double what was executed in 2022.
They also highlighted the 50% increase in public investment — including the Chinchero International Airport — during the first two months of 2023.
