Fertiabono: more than 600,000 producers benefit from monetary support

More than 600,000 agricultural producers have benefited from the payment of the Fertiabono I and II economic subsidy, reported the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri), Nelly Paredes del Castillo, after participating in the start-up ceremony of the caravan to Puno

“With Punche Perú Agro, Midagri is ensuring the agricultural campaign. That is why we are satisfied with the results of the implementation of Fertiabono I and II, which It will benefit more than 600,000 farmers, who will be able to purchase organic and inorganic fertilizers for their crops”the official maintained.

Fertiabono I and II are individual monetary supports, which seek to make it easier for small rural producers to acquire fertilizers, reactivate agricultural activity and achieve the fertilization of crops. This, with the aim of ensuring the 2022-2023 agricultural campaign.

In addition to this economic subsidy, the midagri has also launched the Recover Now bonus, also known as drought bondwhich directly benefits more than 200,000 farmers and ranchers from 16 regions, who suffered the impacts of the lack of rain and which had not occurred in the country for more than 56 years.

Beneficiaries in Puno

As part of the agricultural reactivation plan With Punche Peru Puno, Midagri reported that it seeks to ensure the agrarian campaign in said region through the execution of Fertiabono I, with 25,943 beneficiaries; Recover Now, with 48,000 producers reached with the subsidy, and Fertiabono II with 5,363 people covered with the bonus.

Likewise, the head of the sector reiterated the scope of the program to reactivate the agricultural sector for S/1,070 million as part of “With Punche Peru Agro”, aimed at promoting irrigation projects and the development of small producers, as well as promoting the access of more products to international markets.
