Salary gap between men and women in senior management positions is 7%

The wage gap between men and women continues to be a challenge that is important to discuss in the International Women’s Daysince still there is a 7% salary gap between these two groups in senior management or executive positionsaccording to the 2022 Total Compensation Survey carried out by the consulting firm Mercer.

However, over the years, a positive change has been observed, since this inequality is less than the 14% wage gap that was presented in the same study in 2018.

Along the same lines, the research shows that companies persist in the search for values ​​guided by diversity, equity and inclusion; and 48% affirm that they take concrete actions to ensure that their collaborators fairly represent the markets in which they operate.

While, 39% of company managers receive training on how to organize work groups in an equitable and inclusive manner. Likewise, 24% seek to assume the commitment to implement diversity, equity and inclusion actions at the individual and work team level, more than just one at the business unit level.

Worldwide, diversity and gender issues continue to be in vogue as part of the companies’ bets on a permanent basis. According to the SP500 Index, 68% of the companies considered by the beginning of 2022 used an ESG-related metric in their executive incentive plans.

Also, within the metrics, the main type of indicator was diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), which was present in 38% of the executive bonus programs. It is important to mention that, in the Peruvian case, DEI’s actions focus on topics related to gender.
