This Monday, June 27, the inclusion of bulk LPG in the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund (FEPC) comes to an end, which would increase the value of this resource in the Peruvian market.
According to the president of the Peruvian Society of Liquefied Gas (SPGL)Samuel Vasquez it is important to extend the validity of bulk LPG in the FEPC since it has been possible to “give some stability” to this fuel in a context of rising international pricesthus promoting an initial reduction in the sale price at gas centers and service stations.
“This stability has helped control inflation by expectation, by containing the continuous variation of prices in these points, which, before entering the FEPC, were impacted by international prices and the consequent volatility. Therefore, it is necessary to prolong this decision, ”he noted.
Vásquez ratified his concern about the possibility that the measure will not be extended since there has been no specific statement from the authorities in this regard. The panorama is complicated considering that June 24 is a non-working day for the public sector, which reduces the margin for decision-making.
