Restaurants, conglomerates and supermarkets will be able to operate at 80% capacity in moderate-level provinces

The government Pedro Castillo authorized new gauges in the different provinces of the country, according to their level of alert, as long as there are, in all cases, protocols against coronavirus and prior authorization from local governments within the framework of their powers.

According to Supreme Decree No. 168-2021-PCM, from November 15 to 28, 2021, economic activities will present some modifications in the provinces with a high and moderate level.

At the moderate alert level, closed spaces such as shopping centers, commercial galleries, department stores, general stores and conglomerates, stores supplying essential products, supermarkets, markets, warehouses, pharmacies, cinemas, performing arts, banks, other financial entities, business and professional events , libraries, museums, cultural centers and art galleries; they will be able to operate under a capacity of 80%.

While restaurants and related, whose customer service area (lounge, bar and waiting room) that add up to less than 200 square meters in internal areas will also be able to operate at 80% capacity.

Meanwhile, restaurants and the like, whose customer service area (lounge, bar and waiting room) total equal to or more than 200 square meters in internal areas will be able to function 100%.

For their part, casinos and slots will work at 50%; hairdressers, barber shops, spa, Turkish baths, sauna, thermal baths at 60%.

In the provinces with a high alert level, only 40% of activities will operate in closed spaces such as shopping centers, shopping malls, department stores, general stores, conglomerates, cinema and performing arts, casinos, slot machines, spa, Turkish baths, sauna, thermal baths and gyms.

While 50% will only operate stores supplying basic necessities, supermarkets, markets, warehouses and pharmacies, restaurants and the like in internal areas, business and professional events, hairdressers and barber shops.

Banks and other financial entities will do so at 60%.

It should be noted that the jurisdictions with a moderate alert level include all the provinces of Peru with the exception of Morropón and Sullana, in Piura; Chincha (Ica), Moyobamba (San Martín), Mariscal Nieto (Moquegua), Huaura (Lima) and Virú (La Libertad); all of them are governed under the high level label.
