Minister Óscar Vera also said that there are electrification works to benefit the surrounding populations of the Southern Mining Corridor, which he welcomed the normalization of its traffic.

The Minister of Energy and Mines, Oscar Vera Gargurevichinformed that the construction of the pipelines that will carry natural gas to the Apurímac region will begin in the next quarter.

This, after meeting with the regional governor of Apurímac, Percy Godoy, with whom the Minem designs a work agenda that involves the massification of gas, rural electrification, and covers other sectors such as health and education.

“This region had been forgotten, but in the coming months, through pipelines, we will bring natural gas that will benefit a significant number of Peruvians,” he told Canal N.

Within the framework of the dialogue tables promoted by the government to avoid new social conflicts, Vera stated that coordination with the technical teams of Apurímac for the application of the projects will begin next week. She announced that next week she will be traveling to the Madre de Dios and Amazonas regions.

On the other hand, the minister indicated that the conflict in the Southern Mining Corridor “has normalized” and explained that, for this year, he plans to install photovoltaic systems to provide electricity to 6,000 families in Apurímac located in rural areas, in order to provide development opportunities.
