The Ministry of Justice has called the strike committee of the Justice Administration Lawyers (LAJ) for a second meeting this Friday, after the first 15-hour meeting that ended without an agreement. The lawyers have been on indefinite strike since January 24 in search of salary improvements that compensate for the increase in the workload.
The meeting will take place from 10:30 a.m. and until 12:00 p.m. at the headquarters of the Ministry directed by Pilar Llop.
The General Secretary for Innovation and Quality of the Public Justice Service, Manuel Olmedo, said this week that the meeting aims to “keep approaching positions”. “We have to lower our tone and exercise prudence, an exercise in respect for the other party to the negotiation,” she assured in statements to TVE.
The strike committee assured this week that they will attend the meeting with “the intention of solving” and “willing” to be all weekend if necessary to reach an agreement to end the indefinite strike.
This is the second meeting that the Ministry and the LAJ will maintain after almost a month of indefinite strike by the lawyers that, according to the calculations of the organizing associations, has meant the suspension of 210,000 views and the blocking of 560 million euros.
