ITP Aero has announced the construction of a new R&D center in Zamudio (Bizkaia) in which it will invest 24 million euros with 120 highly specialized jobs that is expected to be operational in the second half of 2024.

The Basque aeronautical company has reported in a press release that the new center will focus on digital technologies and advanced manufacturing necessary to develop the products demanded by the aeronautical engine market.

The R&D center will also support dual technology, such as that needed to develop the FCAS (Future European Combat Air System) program.

In addition, it has indicated that it is going to invest 10 million euros to continue improving its plants in Barakaldo and Sestaoin order to increase the operational capacity of both centers.

In 2022, ITP Aero’s global workforce increased by 8% to reach 4,700 employees (370 more operators). By 2023, the company expects to continue to increase its workforce globally, at a rate similar to that of 2022.
