Iberdrola earned 4.3 billion euros in 2022, 11.7% more than in the previous year

Iberdrola obtained a net profit of 4,339 million euros in 2022, which represents an increase of 11.7% compared to the previous year, as reported by the energy company today. Thus, it improved for the fifth consecutive year the profits of the previous year.
However, in Spain it suffered a 19% drop due to energy costs.
The multinational made a record investment of 10,730 million euros, of which close to 3,000 million were dedicated to the Spanish state.
In addition, Iberdrola made a tax contribution of 7.5 billion euros, 2.6 billion in Spain.
Looking ahead to 2023, the company advocates continuing to increase its renewable installed capacity. He has defended that prices could have been lower without depending on gas, but that regulatory stability is needed for that.
Iberdrola believes that the market reform supported by Germany and the northern countries is the way forward: “more Europe and more interconnections”.
