The number of connections to the fixed internet service continues to increase. 10 years ago, the connections to the fixed internet service totaled 1 million 445,386. Over time, the numbers have doubled. recording an increase of 126.46%. The connections of the residential fixed internet segment, dedicated to the home, totaled 3 million 048,295 as of December, increasing by 7.65% compared to the same period in 2021, which represented 93.13% of the total connections.
For its part, the segment of commercial fixed internet, continues to decline by losing 6.39% of connections in the analyzed period, reaching 224,903 connections, equivalent to 6.87% participation.
How many operators offer internet throughout Peru?

Despite this, telephone continued to lead this market with a 51.95% share, followed by Grupo Claro (25.94%). Meanwhile, the Wi-NET and Optical Technologies group of companies ranked third with 8.87%. For its part, Wow (4.33%) climbed to fourth place. It is followed by the Entel group (2.66%), the group made up of the companies Fiberlux, Fiberlux Tech and Fiberline (1.09%), Hughes (0.69%) and other companies (4.47%).
What operator leads internet connections in Lima?
At the end of 2022, Telefónica leads the share in Lima (56.05%), followed by the Claro group (20.31%). Meanwhile, the group made up of Wi-Net and Optical Technologies is located in an expectant third place (13.16%), above the group Entel (3.50%), Wow (1.03%), Hughes (0 09%) and other operators (5.87%).

According to the supervisory body, 18 regions increased connections to fixed internet service by December 2022. Huancavelica (72.18%), Apurímac (44.48%), Ica (42.88%) and Tumbes (33.76%) were the regions that presented the greatest percentage variation in the number of connections, unlike Pasco (-11.91%), Amazonas (-10.43%), Puno (-6.26%) and Huánuco (-4.11%), which fell the most in the number of connections compared to the same period of the previous year.
