The Productora Cartonera SA (Procarsa) formalized the issuance of obligations for $ 15 million in the Guayaquil Stock Exchange (BVG). The issue has an AA + risk rating from Pacific Credit Rating SA

With this issuance, according to Ricardo Rivadeneira, chairman of the board of the Guayaquil Stock Exchange, so far in 2021 $ 13,000 million have been issued in the stock market; while last year the issue was closed at $ 11.8 billion.

Meanwhile, regarding the new Procarsa issuance, Luis Caballero, president of Plusbursátil Casa de Valores, structuring and placement agent of it, explained that it is a four-year issuance that has quarterly payments of capital and interest, an interest rate of 8.50% per annum, as well as a general guarantee.

Procarsa, which serves Ecuador’s export markets (bananas and shrimp) since 1965, has participated in the national stock market for eleven years with issues made for more than $ 120 million.

In the last two years, the company has paid to the stock market more than $ 58 million between principal and interest.

“This tenth issue of obligations aims to replace the most expensive or shorter-term debt, which allows free flows to serve suppliers that have financed the operation. Likewise, it will serve to increase our productivity and strengthen our market share ”, stated Damián Baeza, General Manager of Procarsa.
