Price of the dollar closes higher and is trading at S/3.8600 this Monday, February 13

The green bill advanced 0.52% compared to Friday’s close when it reached S/3.8400.

The dollar exchange rate closed the day of this Monday, February 13, 2023, and reached S/3.8600. This represents an advance of 0.52% compared to Friday’s close when it stood at S/3.8400, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

At 1:35 pm, the US currency in the parallel market was trading at S/3,830 for purchase and S/3,870 for sale. For its part, in the banking market the referential exchange rate reached S/3,950 for purchases and S/3,768 for sales at the Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP).

Likewise, during the day there was upward pressure due to demand from non-residents, with the dollar reaching a maximum level of 3.862. For its part, US$342 million was negotiated in the market at an average price of 3.8538.

Internationally, the dollar is rising while waiting for inflation data from the United States. In turn, gold prices fell slightly due to the strengthening of the dollar, reported Asvim Asencios, currency trader at Renta4 SAB. This is because investors believe the Federal Reserve will keep its monetary policy tighter for longer, leading to an increase in US bond yields.
