BAS and its practical solution when it comes to dressing the family

The store, located in Riocentro El Dorado, is number 31 and the first in the region. “In 2016 we started with the idea of ​​creating our own stores for the Ta-Ta supermarket clothing brand, which is like Tía here. We started this business model with the development of collection design and in September of that year we opened the first store in Paysandú. We put together a growth plan for 30 stores in Uruguay and now we are in Ecuador”, says the BAS executive.

The first time she visited the country was before the pandemic, when she came with the Marketing Manager, Ximena Quintas, to take a tour and study the local market. “Also the behavior of the client to see if the brand could be adapted to Ecuador and we saw an opportunity. A team here in Ecuador is in charge of the store, assembly and supplies, and works together with the group in Uruguay for the development of collections and campaigns. After developing all the designs, the garments are made in different factories around the world”, explains Magdalena, better known as Maggie.

This is precisely how Francisco de Narváez, president of the De Narváez Group (owner of the brand), called it during the store’s inauguration event, where he recalled the origins of BAS. “Innovating is one of the principles, but with a sense of solving the needs of our communities and clients. Maggie stuck with that vision and built a wonderful team. We hope to soon have more inaugurations, three more this year, and generate no less than 400 new jobs,” the manager emphasized.

He also stressed that the idea of ​​BAS is to be able to make the budget efficient, which is often scarce in the family, because “what is beautiful and basic can be accompanied by quality, good taste, beautiful colors, modernity.”

Katty Salas, director of the brand in Ecuador, added that the current collection is spring-summer, where there are beachwear of all colors. “Not because it is basic is it going to be boring, our collections have a life of their own.
