This measure is due to damages found by Corpac on the landing strip. Passengers may make changes or request refunds of their tickets without any penalty.
The airline LATAM Airlines Peru reported that, after an inspection carried out on the taxiway of the jauja airportCorpac has seen as imperative the temporary cancellation of air operations to and from this city, from Monday 8 to Sunday 12 February, as it is not possible to verify the optimal minimum conditions for its safe development.
“We urge the authority and the concessionaire of the airport Corpac (Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation) to carry out as soon as possible the measures that allow corrective maintenance work on the taxiway“, the company said in a statement.
Likewise, it added that, due to this situation and aiming to maintain the security of its clients, it has been defined that passengers with affected flights have the flexibilities to changes and/or returns without any type of penalty established in the My trips section, in LATAM.com.
Finally, Latam Airlines recommended to its users that, before going to the airport, can find out about the status of their flight on the company’s website. “We regret, once again, the inconvenience that this situation completely beyond our control may cause our passengers and we reinforce our commitment to air safety, as an essential value of our operations, and the country’s connectivity,” added the airline.
