As part of the plan “With Productive Punch”launched by the Ministry of Production (Produce) a few days ago, this week the emergency decree authorizing the delivery of a S/500 bonus to formal artisanal fishermen would be published.
This was announced by the Vice Minister of Mype and Industry, Javier Davila, who stated that this issue was being discussed yesterday at the Council of Ministers session. “Today (yesterday) the approval of that decree is under discussion, therefore, it could be published tomorrow (today) or these days. At the same time, we are generating the list of beneficiaries. To do this, information is being extracted from the Produce registry, from the Regional Governments and from the entry and exit registry of the Port Captaincies ”, said the official during his participation in the Foreign Trade Commission of the Congress of the Republic.
Dávila Quevedo explained that the monetary subsidy, which will be delivered only once and exceptionally, will benefit about 36,000 formal artisanal fishermen. To comply with this measure, the Executive will allocate a budget of S/20 million.
Along these lines, the official expects that the delivery of this S/500 bond will not take more than four weeks for its execution.
Another of the measures that will be promoted for the fishing sector is the budget increase of S/17 million for the expansion of credits through the National Fund for Fisheries Development (fondepes) so that by the end of 2023 close to 1,500 loans with low interest rates will be delivered.
