New Jorge Chávez airport: what will the “airport” city be like, which will have hotels, shopping centers and more?

The city ​​”airport” of Lima will premiere its first trailers this year. Starting in April, the new control tower and the second landing strip of the Jorge Chavez International Airport. But this megaproject includes more than flight operating buildings, it also includes hotels and shopping malls. What will this construction be like and when will it be ready?

What will the “airport” city of Jorge Chávez be like?

The work that is being carried out by Lima Airport Partners (LAP) is destined to be the first city ​​”airport” of Latin America (also called ‘Lima Airport City‘). Not only will it have a second runway for the Jorge Chavez airportbut will have a new passenger terminal, as well as four new shopping areas.

These commercial zones will be known as North headland, Santa Rosa, Gambetta and Faucett.

This area will be located to the northeast of the land, and will have an area of ​​21 hectares. This is where the Callao Logistics Parkan area that will house more than 300,000 square meters of cargo, and which has an investment of US$53 million.

Santa Rosa

This will be the largest piece of land in the entire city and will be located in front of the new passenger terminal. This area will house hotels, offices, parking lots, aeronautical services, and more. However, its development, in stages, will take about 30 years.

Although some works will take longer, it is expected that the new passenger terminal of the Jorge Chavez airport be working in January 2025. This will have the capacity to 30 million passengers a year, and will have a constructed area of ​​210,000 square meters.
