Drought bonus: Midagri began with the payment of financial support to ranchers and farmers

The bond called “Recover now”, which seeks to benefit 200,000 citizens, was launched this Tuesday by the head of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation.

He Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri)as part of its plan to reactivate the economies of small producers, launched the Recover Now drought bond. This will be granted to producers who own four hectares and to workers dedicated to raising alpacas. For the former, the amount can reach S/800 per hectare, while for the second group, the bonus amounts to S/266 per head of alpaca, a maximum of twelve.

“We are starting today in Huaura with the delivery of the first bond to mitigate the impacts of the lack of rain. Agricultural producers and alpaca breeders to access Recover Now must be registered in the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) and appear on the list of beneficiaries,” said Nelly Paredes, Minister of Agrarian Development and Irrigation, during the presentation of the bonus in Huarua.

It should be noted that Midagri hopes to reach 224,000 producers nationwide.

How to access the drought bonus?

Producers must meet the following criteria: conduct agricultural units up to four hectares, or be in charge of livestock activities raising up to twelve heads of alpaca. Likewise, the beneficiaries must be registered until December 13, 2022 in the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) and not be a beneficiary of Emergency Decrees No. 013-2022 and No. 022-2022 or be registered in the public sector payroll.

“There is a list that is published at the level of all our agricultural offices, through the regional agricultural directorates. It has also been coordinated with the regional governments, and the lists have also been posted so that farmers can see if they are beneficiaries of this bonus,” added Paredes.
