Petroecuador issued an urgent notice on February 4 to disavow any person who takes the name of its general manager Hugo Aguiar Lozano and that of the authorities of this public company.
The state oil company issued this public statement indicating that it disavows those who take the name of the manager and executives “for procedures or recommendations that do not correspond to strict compliance with regulations and clearly established processes in the public sector.”

And it also asked all the personnel of the oil company and the general public that if they know of these cases, report them to denunciaspcla@eppetroecuador.ec or enter the complaints channel that is enabled on the company’s website www.eppetroecuador. ec with the name of Anti-Bribery Management – Complaints https://denuncias.eppetroecuador.ec:8443/Denuncias/servlet/com.denuncias.pantallainicio.
Petroecuador indicates that, in accordance with the Government’s guidelines, it carries out transparent processes and complies with current regulations and legislation.
The Government is currently carrying out an evaluation process in public companies that arose after the denunciation of the existence of an alleged corruption network in that environment and that on January 17 the President of the Republic, Guillermo Lasso, requested that all Managers of these companies will present the availability of the position. So far, five managers have been removed and another six have been ratified in their position as in the case of Aguiar. (YO)
