The bench of Together for Peru introduced a bill in Congress that proposes including snack time as part of a worker’s workday. In addition, this should not be less than 45 minutes, if the person works eight hours.
“All time dedicated to refreshments is part of the working day and work schedule, and may not be less than forty-five (45) minutess. Unless there is an individual or collective agreement that improves these conditions for the worker, ”states the legal proposal that would modify article seven of the law on working hours, hours and overtime work.
The project argues that the current norm does not consider refreshments as part of the working day, since at that time the worker does not produce or provide service, which does not generate any benefit to the employer.
