Last March the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) approved the new electricity toll system that came into effect on June 1. This situation has directly affected companies in the sector, as is the case of Endesa, which accumulates delays of up to four months in the invoice of a large number of customers “due to this change in the system.”
In this way, some of the company’s clients have received messages in recent months informing them that their invoices would not be collected normally. «We get in touch with you to inform you that your billing has been affected by an incident punctual in our systems that prevents you from receiving your invoices with the usual periodicity. We are very sorry that this fact may cause you any inconvenience. In no case does this delay in billing affect your energy supply ”, the message reads.
At OKDIARIO we have contacted Endesa, which explains that “there have been delays in the billing of some customers due to the change in the toll system and the new billing, which has forced both distributors and marketers to make adjustments in the systems, reprogram the meters, etc. They will gradually be updated and customers will be able to make the installment payment when the invoice arrives ».
«For your peace of mind, as soon as your invoices are generated, you will be able to request a split payment plan at no additional cost to pay the affected invoices in monthly installments, corresponding to the delay caused by the incident. For more information, we are at your disposal at any of our Commercial Offices or Endesa Service Point, or call us at the free phone number 800 76 09 09 «, ends the notification attached by the company to its customers.
Maximum on the invoice
To these problems, changes in the bill are compounded by the trend that the wholesale electricity market has suffered in Europe, and especially in Spain, over the last month. And it is that so far in August, the ‘pool’ has pulverized all the records seen so far, aiming, when its equator has already been surpassed, to a half price for the month above 100 euros / MWh. The first five days of last week marked a maximum figure after another, with that historical level, until now, on Friday, August 13, of an average daily price of 117.29 euros / MWh.
In fact, the electricity bill of an average user in August will be “The most expensive in history”, with an increase in the price so far this month of 43,7% compared to the same period last year. According to estimates by the consumer association on the evolution of the semi-regulated tariff (PVPC), the first 15 days of August reflect a monthly bill for the user of 91.62 euros, with that rise of almost 44% compared to 63.77 euros in August last year, despite the VAT reduction from 21% to 10% approved by the Government for invoices issued from June 26 to the end of the year.
