Credicorp close to finalizing the purchase of Joinnus

The BCP financial holding company with a presence in Colombia, Bolivia, Chile, Panama and the United States is in the final stage of acquiring the well-known ‘ticketera’ company.

With presence in the financial market Through the four business lines it manages —Universal Banking, Microfinance, Insurance and Pension Funds, and Investment Banking and Wealth Management— the financial holding company Credicorp is close to finalizing the purchase of the well-known Peruvian startup joinnus, according to the Economic Week.

The ticket sales platform for various shows has a great presence in the market, since, together with Teleticket and Passline, it brings together close to 50% of the US$300 million generated per year from ticket sales in Peru.

Although the amounts under which this operation would be carried out have not yet been disclosed, the financial conglomerate has shown great interest in the ticket sales platform, since the negotiations date back to 2022 and would allow the Credit Bank of Peru (BCP) can deal with financial institutions such as BBVA and Interbank regarding the acquisition of the main events. In addition, it would provide the banking entity with information on consumer behavior.

If this transaction is achieved, the BCP could facilitate the purchase of tickets by creating an option within the Yape application, which is on its way to becoming a ‘superapp’, since it is being implemented with more and more functions that make it one of the most used in our country.

Once the operation with the ‘ticketera’ company is closed, Credicorp would finalize the purchase of its second company outside the financial business, with a view to achieving a strong presence in the markets with the highest demand in the country.
