The President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, announced today in Ayacucho the start of the massification of natural gas in more than eight regions of the country.
“The gas belongs to all Peruvians. For this reason, I announce the firm decision to massify gas throughout Peru. Today we start gas in Cusco, Puno, Apurímac, Arequipa, Ayacucho, Moquegua, Tacna, Ucayali and other regions ”, said the Head of State during his presentation of the balance of the 100 days of Government.
To achieve this objective, Castillo announced that the Executive Power has presented a bill on the massification of natural gas to the Congress of the Republic.
“I urge (Congress) to pass immediately. The massification policy that will allow us to recover energy resources for Peruvians ”, he emphasized.
Regarding the process of renegotiation of gas with the Camisea consortium, the president reiterated that they will continue the dialogue in the current legal framework. “We want open and transparent dialogue with the company, we believe that all Peruvians should benefit from Camisea gas because it corresponds to us,” he concluded.
