Experts talked about the rules that will help you make the most of your free time in the evening after work. This is reported by “Doctor Peter”.

So, experts advise to change into home clothes. This is especially important if you work from home. You need to give a “signal” to the body when you work and when you rest. This will greatly help compliance with the dress code in the conditional “home office” and dressing in cozy comfortable clothes in the evening.

“If even within an hour after you turned off the computer, you remain in the clothes that you were wearing during working hours, you continue to keep your body in a“ working ”mode,” says psychologist Joy Kish.

Experts also talk about the importance of creating a personal evening routine.

“You need to clearly understand what exactly you need and what you want after the end of the working day,” says psychotherapist Noreen Iqbal. – Someone – communication, others – silence. You can tune in to your needs by simply listening to your body, keeping a journal, or attending therapy. Think of your own evening routine, including everything that pleases and pleases you – for example, light candles, cook a delicious meal, take a bath.

Also, you need to keep moving. If you have a sedentary job, the worst option is to get home and lie down on the couch. In the morning you will definitely not feel rested.

“Even a little physical activity will invigorate you after a working day, give you strength and energy, and cheer you up,” says psychotherapist Meredith Van Ness. – Walk or do a small set of exercises at home, stretching, arrange an online workout, or at least wave a broom or mop for at least some activity. It is better to do this immediately after the end of the working day. The closer it gets to night, the less likely you are to go for a walk or exercise.”

Experts recommended not to forget about your favorite music, which can bring you out of a state of nervous tension.

They also advised to turn off work chats, remove remotes from the TV. According to psychologists, sitting in front of TV or computer screens in the evening after work will not give you the opportunity to recharge, relax and feel that you have rested.

Another rule is not to add unnecessary things to yourself. Try not to make a mess in the evening so that you don’t get annoyed by a full sink of dishes before going to bed.

“It’s important to clean up after yourself immediately, in the moment – wash the dishes when you cook, wipe off the table, hang up your coat and put things in place as soon as you change clothes,” advises Van Ness. “If you leave a mess in your path, then by the end of the evening thinking about it will ruin your mood, and if you start cleaning, it will take you precious time.”

Psychologists also recommend doing something unexpected so that one evening is not like the previous one.

Finally, they advise not to rush. Time after work should be spent on rest and recovery, and not become another labor duty – homework. For many women, it is a common thing to run out of the office, rush after the child, then rush to cook dinner, and so on. So by the night you will be exhausted twice as much.

“Even if these cases cannot be canceled, you can afford small breaks,” the psychologist advises. – Breathing exercises help. Stop, sit down, give yourself a minute – take a few deep breaths in and out. It is important that the exhalation be longer (one and a half times) than the inhalation – this will allow you to reboot your nervous system.
